Charles Loye Kemp, 66, of Nederland, died Saturday, February 9, 2013, at The Methodist Hospital System, Houston. He was born on November 1, 1946, in Beaumont, to Dorothy Adams Kemp and William Edward Kemp. Loye spent his career working as a housing inspector with the City of Port Arthur.

He stayed active and involved in his community as a member of Lutheran Social Services, and also having participated in Extreme Makeover, which aided in helping local Sabine Pass families with their homes. Loye’s favorite saying was “It’s not about me.” He was a participant of ACTS and strived to be a fisher of men. Loye also enjoyed working crossword puzzles. He was the best friend, the love of her life, his wife, Cecile.
