FORREST EDWARD STEWART, SR.

Forrest Edward Stewart, Sr. 66, of Beaumont died Monday, November 22, 2004 at his home following a valiant struggle with melanoma.

Eddie was born June 21, 1938 in Beaumont and was a lifelong resident of Beaumont. He graduated from St. Anthony High School and attended Lamar University. He was a retired parts manager with area GM Dealerships and was a long-standing fourth degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus Council 951.

Rose remembers Eddie as a wonderful husband and father, a friend and caring person. Eddie loved cars and “all things Chevrolet.” His passions were the time with his family, tinkering with motors and cars with son Edd and enjoying his grandson, Lucas, and his rare 1954 Mustang motorcycle. He enjoyed his service work at St. Anthony Cathedral as Eucharistic Minister and altar server. Recently, he helped restore the Stations of the Cross in the newly renovated Cathedral.

Survivors include his loving wife, Rose Montalbano Stewart of Beaumont; his son, Forrest Edward Stewart, Jr. and his wife Betty of Beaumont; his brothers, James Stewart and his wife Gwen of Atlanta, Georgia, and Tony Stewart and his wife Myra of Houston; his sisters, Peggy Geraci and her husband Steve of Beaumont and Margaret Ellerkamp of Culbertson, Montana; one grandson, Lucas Edward Stewart of Beaumont; and our Keith Watson of Dallas.

His daughter, Mary Jo Stewart Watson, preceded him in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 A.M. Friday, November 26, 2004 at St. Anthony Cathedral with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin. A Rosary will be recited 5:00 P.M. Thursday, November 25, 2004 at the mortuary.

The family wishes to acknowledge and thank Odyssey Hospice Health Service for their sincere care and compassion for Eddie and our family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony Cathedral Endowment Fund, 700 Jefferson, Beaumont, Texas 77701; St. Pius X Church, 5075 Bigner Road, Beaumont, Texas 77708; Odyssey Health Service, 550 Fannin, Ste. 1230, Beaumont, Texas 77701-3313.

I have known Eddie's brother Mack for many years - and have recently been able to get to know Tony a bit more. Believing that the three brothers are each as wonderful as each other, I feel I know Eddie. Please know that my wife Rose and I have been praying for Eddie and will now continue to pray for him and his loved ones still with us. Eddie is caring for you even still now. May God's peace continue to remain in your hearts until you are again with Eddie in heaven. bill and rose
