Marguerite Kirkland
Marguerite Kirkland, 86, of Nederland died November 21, 2004 at Schlesinger Nursing Home in Beaumont. A native of Colmesneil and a lifelong resident of Nederland, she was a long time member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Nederland.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Sealy and Courtney Howell; son, Donald Bruce Kirkland; sister, Wilma Barclay; and brother, Bill Howell. Survivors include her husband, Tyler L. Kirkland of Nederland; sons, Tyler “Lanny” Kirkland and his wife Lucretia of Beaumont and David D. Kirkland and his wife Belinda of Austin; daughters, Cheryl D. Martin and Deborah G. Ohman and her husband John all of Beaumont; sister, Helen Saunders and her husband Billy of Colmesneil; grandchildren, Kristy Allen, Amber “Amby” Martin, Alisha Gaffney, Deaven Ohman, Ashley Kirkland and Brandon Kirkland; great grandchildren, Weston Allen, Anne Allen, Allison Allen, Brenden Gaffney, Taylin Gaffney and Tyler Ohman.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive followed by burial at Sand Hill Cemetery near Colmesneil. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
