Minnie Ruth Paul, 86, of Groves, died Thursday, December 12, 2012, at Mid-Jefferson Extended Care Hospital, Nederland. She was born on June 22, 1926, to Ruth and O.H. Pullin, Sr., and had been a lifelong resident of the area.
Minnie began elementary school in Groves and attended Port Neches High School, where she participated in such activities as cheerleading. After graduation, she attended St. Mary School for Registered Nursing, where she lived and studied for three years. Minnie started her career working at Neches Butane Refinery in the medical department and continued employment there until the day she retired. During that time, she was able to offer care to many employees and even maintained friendships with some after her retirement until her last days. Minnie was an active member of Fellowship Baptist Church, Nederland, Eastern Star, Chapter #1079, and the Nurses Association. She will always be remembered for her kindness and friendships. Minnie was a wonderful sister, friend, and will be missed by all that knew her.
Survivors include her brother, O.H. Pullin, Jr. and his wife, Earlene, of Russellville, Arkansas; sister, Mary E. Kuykendall and her husband, James, of Nederland; sister-in-law, Mary Pullin; nieces and nephews, Dale Pullin; Susan Pullin; Ronnie Pullin; Steve Pullin and his wife, Sharon; Tommy Pullin; James L. Fontenot and his wife, Faye; Randy Fontenot and his wife, Angie; and Michelle Fontenot Williams; many devoted friends that stood by her side during her illness, Jean, Paul, Syble, Bernice; and many others.
Minnie is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Earl W. Pullin.
A gathering of Mrs. Paul’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 14, 2012, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 15, 2012, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
