Martha Jo “Jody” Snyder, 82, of Beaumont, died Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. She was born June 5, 1930, to Mary Vivian Corgey Melton and Donald Raymond Melton, in Hearne. Martha married Jasper Snyder on October 10, 1968. They spent several years in Nederland until Jasper’s retirement when they moved to Toledo Bend. Their past few years were spent in Beaumont. Jody was a member of Christ Covenant Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Nina Adams and her husband, J.P., of Beaumont; Jamie Brezinski of Waldwick, New Jersey; Judy Gereaux and her husband, Jerry, of Stone Mountain, Georgia; Jana Landry and her husband, Kevin, of Friendswood; and Jody Lee and her husband, Gary, of Beaumont; stepchildren, Steve Snyder and his wife, Cyndi, of Austin; Janelle Davila and her husband, Phil, of Fort Worth; and Jim Snyder and his wife, Lynn, of San Antonio; grandchildren, Dr. Jeremy Roebuck, Jeffrey Roebuck, Scott Brezinski, Todd Brezinski, Matthew Nelson, Mitchel Nelson, Ben Snyder, Neil Snyder, Valerie Snyder, Eric Davila, Andrew Davila, Michael Davila, Daniel Snyder, and Will Snyder; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Jody is preceded in death by her parents; husband of forty-two years, Jasper Steve Snyder; and two sisters.
A gathering of Mrs. Snyder’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Friday, December 14, 2012, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 15, 2012, at Broussard’s, with Reverend Chris Beard officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
