Hilius John Myers, Jr., 56, of Mauriceville, died Sunday, December 2, 2012. He was born November 23, 1956, in Port Arthur, to Mary Elizabeth and Hilius John Myers, Sr. Hilius was a veteran of the United States Navy. He enjoyed fishing, dancing, and playing the drums.
Hilius will be remembered as someone who was a risk taker, confident, adventurous and free.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Marie Myers-Lopez and her husband, Florentino, of Nipomo, California; son, Hilius John Myers III (John) and his wife, Kim, of Nederland; brothers, Johnny Myers of Mauriceville and Bobbie Myers and his wife, Bonnie, of Arkansas; sisters, Connie Woods and her husband, Clint, of Nederland and Audrey Pelt and her husband, Jeff, of Lumberton; and grandchildren, Sian Lopez, Peyton Myers, and Mason Myers.
Hilius is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Albert Eugene Myers.
A gathering of Mr. Myers’ family and friends will begin at 6:00 p.m., Friday, December 7, 2012, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont
