Shanon Dean Hartley, 36, died Thursday, November 4, 2004. Shannon was born on February 3, 1968 and raised in Nederland, having graduated from Nederland High School in 1986. He was an Operation Desert Storm United States army veteran and former employee of the United States federal aviation Administration. He resided mostly in the Nederland area with a military stay in Germany and brief stints in both Dallas and Amarillo.
Shanon had an unbelievable aptitude for electronics that seemed second nature to him. He loved fast cars and tinkering with various motors, from motorcycles to performance engines. He was a champion at most video games and could play with his pals for hours and hours. He was always the first to tell funny stories from days gone by with his childhood friends and laughed each time the story was repeated even harder than the time before. Most of all Shanon was a warm hearted, giving and caring soul who would do anything in the world for a friend. The world will be a better place because of the lives he touched and he will be terribly missed.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Monday, November 15, 2004 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Nederland. Interment and graveside services will be held at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friend will be from 5-8pm Sunday at the mortuary.
Shanon is survived by his father and stepmother, Joseph and Iluminda of Jones Creek, Texas; his mother, Noriko Silvey of Oceanside California; his brother, Christopher Hartley of Port Arthur, Texas; two half sisters of California.
Pallbearers will be Kenny, Tony, Todd, Terry, Travis, and Tracey
