Vic was a United States Army 101st Airborne Division veteran, having served in World War II. He served in the European Theater of Operations with the 101st Airborne Division from 1943 – 1945. He served in Normandy, Holland, Bastogne, Carenton, and then Berchtesgaden (The Eagle’s Nest).

After returning home to Miami, Florida, he opened a dry cleaning plant (Mackool’s Cleaners) with his Father by day, and by night he sang in night clubs throughout Miami Beach.

Vic retired from the dry cleaning industry in 1989 and became an avid tennis player and moved to Beaumont, Texas, in 1998, where he became involved singing locally and donated time to newspapers, radio, and television to educate people on the history of World War II. Vic also spoke at rotary clubs and schools.

Dear Nancy,

I am terribly sorry to hear of your loss. Although words can do so little, I wanted you to know that you have my deepest sympathy. No expression of sympathy, no matter how deeply felt can help much right now, but I had to let you know that my throughts and prayers are with you.

Sincerely,

Louise

Nancy & Tammy, you are in my thoughts & prayers. Vic was like a brother to me & I know that he & my late husband Russ are already talking about the times we had together when we all were single. I hope you & I will keep in touch. God Bless!
