Laura Hay Purkey

Yesterday marked two months and something hit me like a ton of bricks at work. Your absence during these couple of weeks of audit time just triggered something deep. I didn't realize the date until after my little meltdown...but then thought the whole day was just you saying hello! I miss you and love you, sister! Maybe next time you say hello we can do without the tears...just a thought.

A wonderful mother, wife, and friend, truly a strong person. Laura has touched so many lives, including mine. She will truly be missed. To the family, you have my condolences. ~ Charity

It has been quite a week and today's events couldn't have happened at a better time. You never fail to pull me back into His light! I love you!

We are very sorry to hear of Laura's passing and we at Symitar send our condolences to her family. Laura was a pleasure to work with and was an important part of the card.

I had the pleasure of meeting Laura while attending SCMS School together. May God watch over her family and friends and provide comfort and strength during this difficult time.

Always concerned about those around her, Laura was truly selfless, humble, and brave.

Laura was a SCMS classmate. She was a delight to know. My prayers are with her family.

Ok, I'm not going to lie. Tuesday was a very tough day. No matter how long you prepare for this - it is never easy. As I said Monday evening, your love for life, your faith in God, and your acceptance of His plan are three things that let me know you are at peace and are watching over all of us! In true honor of you, I escaped to the beach yesterday. I believe you played a part in working this out to where we all had a day off to relax, reflect and even rejoice in how great our God is. I love you, Sister!

Just found out beautiful Laura has went to our Lord and Savior. Praise the Lord she is not in pain anymore, Laura was faithful , giving, gracious lady I have ever met. Laura 's smile was like a angel from heaven, and heart of gold. Laura encouraged me not to be scared, that she was there for me. Love you, from your Sister in Christ.

I have meant Laura when are babies was attending daycare together. They became great friends when Ryan was 5 months and Kim was 5 weeks. Laura was a very sweet, loving, caring person. She will be missed. She has touch so many hearts though out the years. Your family will be in my prayers thought this time of sorrow.

You don't know me, but I taught Laura at West Brook in VOE class. She was a very fine, intelligent young lady with a great deal of potential. I am so sorry for your loss and will keep you in my prayers

You were a great friend and a great co-worker. You gave inspiration to all you met. You will be dearly missed.

I only had the privilege to know Laura for a few short years though work. My prayers go out to David, Ryan and all of Laura's family and friends that at grieving. She will be missed dearly!

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I met Laura at the Credit Union school in Fort Worth. Even though I don't know you personally, I am hurting with you. My prayer is that you will find strength and comfort from friends and family during this difficult time.

I am rejoicing that your Spirit has gone home to our Lord but we will miss you dearly. Thank you for helping me through a tough time with your prayers all while you were fighting for your own life. Danny, where do I start? She loved you and Ryan with everything she had and we both know that was ALOT! I will never stop praying for you, my sorrow is great, I cannot begin to know yours. 

Laura, oh precious Laura, LP or "Peas" I do not know the plans the Lord  has for us, I do know it is supposed to be for good and not harm, but right now I am unable to see the big picture. I know you are no longer in pain, no longer confused, tired or "puffy" as you would say lol. I know you are enjoying brushing your beautiful long hair and hanging out with your dad and Jacob. What a party they must have had planned for you. I can only imagine how good you must feel. You are the strongest, bravest, smartest, wisest, most beautiful, faith-fill-courageously 
-brave woman I have ever and will ever know! You are an inspiration to all women and a hero and role model. I can only strive to have a fraction of the gracefulness and faith you had and when I grow up I want to be just like Laura Purkey! 

Sweet little Ryan, I pray you will always remember everything your mother did was for you! She told me many times if not for you she would have just given up! She not only fought cancer "like a girl" she fought cancer like a mom!

Lea, I do know your pain and wish you didn't have to know mine. yet I cannot imagine watching my child suffer. That takes extreme  faith, courage and grace; most of us couldn't handle. We never asked for membership to this dreaded "Grieving Mom" club, but I hope someday we can learn to chisel these awful concrete blocks we must wear into some sassy new heels. We will see our children again and oh what a reunion it will be!

And Jason, I have not had the honor of meeting you, but you must know Laura loved you! I know this because she said it. I have an estranged brother and she said "I love my brother and could not imagine not seeing or talking to him!" we as siblings rarely tell each other of our love verbally. I know Laura probably told you many times, but just in case she didn't, I wanted you to know!

I will be praying for each person Laura touched, so that will keep me busy until I see her again because she was a blessing not only to those of us who knew and loved her, but to everyone she ever met and spoke to. 

What a terrible loss to the world, but God couldn't have asked for a better person to appoint as his Head Angel

I love you LP and I am sad my carrots are left on this earth without its peas. I will miss your wisdom, advice, guidance, love, compassion, smile, faith, humor and laughter....simply, I will miss my friend!

I was able to know Laura for a short period of time, through SCMS. She was an amazing person. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

What a wonderful gift God gave us in such a sweet spirited young lady. I am blessed to have known her, if only for a short time. Danny, my thoughts & prayers are with you & your family.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this difficult time and I want them to know of the many times you shared with me of how the prayers of many were giving you strength during your time of need. The word of God says "To be absent from the body is to be Present with the Lord" and I know you are with him now. Laura was one of the brightest, most pleasant, and truly courageous women I have known. I not only worked with Laura, but also shared some classes with her through the Lamar MBA program. If someone asked me to describe Laura, the first thing I would say is determined. Along with that I would add, couragous and gracious. What an incredible Mom, wife and daughter. She always had a story to share with me.

Laura was a remarkable young lady and fought the hardest fight that anyone can be asked to. I am sorry to say that our lives kept us all to busy to spend more time together. Without a doubt she is one of the strongest women I have ever known. Ryan always remember how much your mommy loves you and she always be looking down on you.
