I met Dirk in the summer of 2004 while working at the Pct-5 Constables Department, in Harris County. We became close friends very quickly. We worked District 4 together and became as close as blood brothers. We backed each other on calls and earned each others trust. A trust that could not be broken by anyone or anything. Only other true police officers can understand what I mean. I deeply miss Dirk and I miss our times together. It is a damn shame that, that good of a person was taken so young. Dirk I love you as if you were my brother. John Pitts # 139

The thoughts and prayers of all of us on the Board of Directors, and simply friends and neighbors, in Lakewood Glen, Dennis's home precinct and patrolling area, and the Men's Fellowship Group of Lakewood United Methodist Church, are with the entire Knearem family in this time of your tragic loss. You should take comfort in knowing that Dirk was lost in humble service to his fellow citizens, and that we are eternally grateful for that. May God be with you.
