It was a joy to know Helen. She was a giving, sweet lady to me. My favorite poem as a tribute:

Uncle Boo,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss of Aunt Helena. I know that you two are life-long partners, and you will see her again. I wish I could be there for you all, but I am still deployed. My wife, Lindsey, would have just loved her, much like everyone else that knew Helena. If there is anything that my wife and I can do, just let us know.

How blessed I've been to have experienced in times of need the unannounced appearance of an "angel" with the rare ability to assess both material and human "damages", apply the most immediately practical repairs, and depart as quickly and unassumingly as she'd arrived -- an extraordinary angel, indeed.
