Kathy (Kat) Grantham, 54, of Beaumont, died Friday, October 15, 2004. She was born on September 27, 1950 in Syracuse, New York to Larry and Billie Panaro.

Kathy grew up in Perry, Florida where she met and married her beloved husband of thirty-six years, James Louis Grantham. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who selflessly followed her husband’s career to many states across the country. Kathy and Jim resided in Beaumont for the past seven years, where she made many dear and cherished friends. Her passion for life was extraordinary, and she enjoyed every moment to the fullest. Kathy was an avid cyclist and snow skier. She loved to travel, and her favorite places were the mountains of British Columbia, and Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she recently traveled with some of her best friends. Her friends were truly an extension of her family, and she will be deeply missed by all.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Jim Grantham of Beaumont; son, James Grantham, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Tressa; grandchildren, Tyler, Emma, Cody and Megan of Dallas, Georgia; one brother, Joel Garner Panaro of Fernandina Beach, Florida; and one sister, Toni Lee Corbin of Tampa, Florida.

Ellen,

I am so very sorry to hear the news of the loss of your Mother....Having just lost my own Mother, I know exactly what you (and your entire family) are going through. Be assured that she is resting comfortably in the arms of our beloved Savior, Jesus Christ. My sincerest sympathies go out to you.

I miss your smile, your eyes so full of life, and of course your wonderful accent. I remember time after time laughing until tears were pouring out of our eyes. You taught me so much about living life to its fullest, and I only hope I will always have your lust for life, love and friendship. We were truly "Sisters in Spirit", and I will always know you are with me. Karen

Jim, we have such wonderful memories of our times shared with you both, those memories now more precious than ever. My thoughts are with you and hope that one day we will share a bottle or two of champs again and toast those good times. My parents also send their thoughts and prayers.
