Mercedes Patricia del Carmen Ledet, 47, of Beaumont, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. She was born in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, on September 8, 1964, to Guadalupe Reyna del Carmen and Aurelio Gomez del Carmen.

Her family moved to Galveston in 1969 and then to Beaumont later that year. She graduated from Beaumont Charlton-Pollard High School in 1983 and later attended Lamar University. She married Joseph Clarence Ledet and from this union were born two children, Alfredo del Carmen Ledet and Armando Enrique del Carmen Ledet, both of Beaumont.

Mercedes was an extremely active volunteer at St. Anne Catholic School and Msgr. Kelly Catholic High School and a proud supporter of both school athletics and religious growth. A dedicated parishioner of St. Anne Catholic Church she loved participating in the activities and functions of the parish especially youth activities. She cherished being able to be involved with Life Teen, Youth 2000, Teen A.C.T.S., and youth teen conferences. Mercedes was also employed with Spindletop MHMR/ECI working with children.

In her love and faith, she served him on many A.C.T.S. retreats including a couple of Teen A.C.T.S. retreats. One of her many blessings was her ability to share her faith with family and friends.
