Linda Cormier King, 63, of Rio Frio, died Friday, March 2, 2012, at her residence. She was born November 13, 1948, in Crowley, Louisiana, to Whitney Cormier and Hazel Stutes. Formerly of Anahuac, Linda had resided in Rio Frio for the last sixteen years.
She was devout in her faith, and enjoyed being involved in many church activities.
Linda is survived by her husband, Walter Richard King of Rio Frio; daughter, Angie Vanderpool and her husband, Jerry of Dayton; son, Chad King and his wife, Tina of Rio Frio; sisters, Ruthie Leger and her husband, Jerrell and Marilyn Cormier, all of Winnie; grandchildren, Zoe King and Madelyn King; and many other relatives and friends in the Winnie / Anahuac.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at St. Louis Catholic Church, 315 W. Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Interment will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at Anahuac Cemetery, under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 5, 2012, with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., at Broussard’s.
