Betty Jo Shipp, 76, of Nederland died, Thursday, October 7, 2004 at her daughter’s home in Erath, Louisiana.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Broussard’s in Nederland with Rev. James Loving officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday evening at the mortuary.
Mrs. Shipp was a native of Cheek, and lived most of her life in Nederland. She worked for Southwestern Bell as a operator and was also a homemaker.
Mrs. Shipp was preceded in death by her son, Lee Shipp, and grandson, Shane Shipp. She is survived by her daughter, Jo Beth Richard and husband David of Erath, Louisiana; one son, Van Ray Shipp of Nederland; three sisters, Nan Mull of Nederland, Audrey Stovall of Kirbyville, and Mary Beth Pickett of Oakdale City, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Michael Ray Shipp, Van Ray Shipp II, Coby Dewayne Votaw, and Brandy Leigh Votaw; one great grandchild, Breanna Lashay Shipp.
