Gaynell Keneson Clubb, 96, of Fannett, died at Harbor Hospice on Tuesday, December 20, 2011. She was born March 13, 1915, in LaBelle, Texas to Eva Stone Keneson and Bill Keneson. Gaynell was a lifelong resident of Fannett and the proud owner of some of the first businesses in that area. She and her husband Clark were the owners of Clark Clubb Grocery. After the grocery store was closed, they became the owners of the Oil Patch Inn, which Gaynell ran until her retirement in 1978. Through her years in business Gaynell met and made many friends in Fannett and the surrounding communities. If you mentioned a name, she had a story about that person just waiting to be told. She was a walking history book about the settling of that area of Jefferson County. Gaynell was loved abundantly and will be missed by many.

Gaynell is survived by her son, Ronald “Ronny” Clubb and his wife, Avis Marie and daughter, Janie Sensat and her husband, Robert, all of Fannett; seven grandchildren, Scarlet Sanchez and her husband, Pete of Saginaw, Texas, Shawn Clubb and his wife, Shelly of Buna, Jason Sensat and his wife, Rana of Fannett, Jana Sensat of Lockhart, Texas, Wade Meguess and his wife, Darby, Kendall Meguess and his wife, Rhonda and Monica Bergeron and her husband, James all of Fannett; fourteen great-grandchildren, Jeremy Clubb, Mindy Clubb, Kayla Clubb, Matt Sanchez, Taylor Sanchez, Ashton Sensat, Shelby Sensat, Justin Sensat, Trevor Sensat, Randi Meguess, Jacy Meguess Deagle, Scott Meguess, Blake Bergeron and Bryan Bergeron; two great-great-grandchildren, Ava Meguess and Layton Meguess; one sister, Melba Sisk of Houston; and three sisters-in-law, Edelena Keneson of Lafayette, Louisiana, Mabel Keneson of Winnie and Barbara “Bobbie” Keneson of LaBelle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clark Clubb; six brothers and two sisters, Cecil Keneson, Bill “Punk” Keneson, David “Bo” Keneson, Frank Keneson, Pete Keneson, Tommy Keneson, Polly “Tootsie” Phelps, and Margie East; and daughter-in-law, Barbara Duhon Clubb.
