Evelyn Lackey Newnum, 86, of Beaumont died September 29, 2004 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital. A native of Almyra, Arkansas, Evelyn was a life long resident of Beaumont.
She is survived by her husband, W. H. “Bill” Newnum of Beaumont; son, William H. Newnum, Jr. and his wife Charlotte of Beaumont; brother, Bruce Lackey and his wife Darlene of Sour Lake; grandchildren, Kathleen Newnum Rogers and her husband Eddie of League City and William H. Newnum III and his wife Tanya of Bryan/College Station; and great grandchildren, Andrew Edward Rogers, Christopher William Rogers, and Erin Elizabeth Rogers.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 1, 2004 at Broussard’s, 1605 N Major Drive, Beaumont followed by burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
