Robert T. Caudillo, Jr.

To my sweet sissy Patti and her beautiful children Ethan and Desiree. I am so sorry for the passing of a devoted and loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle. Robert was a prince of a guy. Although I had not had the opportunity to visit Robert I spoke with him a couple of weeks ago. He was more concerned about my sick mother than himself. I would like to share a poem that has helped me through some rough times.

Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away to the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
That, we still are.

Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way
which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.

Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect.
Without the trace of a shadow on it.

Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
There is absolute unbroken continuity.

because I am out of sight?

Patricia, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Cindy just called to let me know, I don't subscribe to the Bmt. paper so I was not aware of it. Praying that our Lord gives you the strength to help you with your loss. Sending you love and a GIANT HUG.

I was just a year or so behind Robert at Lamar, also one of his Pike brothers. What a great photo on this guestbook. It's a good reflection of what I remember about him. A kind soul; a cheerful disposition. Never heard an unkind word from him or about him.

Ethan, I appreciate your note and know that Robert did value his relationship with his Pike brothers during the time he was school and after. My prayers go out to you and your family.

I am a Pike bother to your dad, Robert. I was 2 classes ahead. and I have not seen many of my brothers since graduation, including your father. I will be unable to attend services, but I wish to express my sympathy to your entire family. If Robert was anythiong like the big-hearted kind person I remember, then you were fortunate to ghave him be your dad. I am certain that you will continue follow his example, as evidenced by the email to his Pike brethern.

I'm sorry to hear of Roberts passing. I'm sad when I reflect on College days. The special bond that exist among Fraternity Brothers does not end with our short time on earth. Let us all remember, we will be together again in Heaven.

Robert was a wonderful person. He was the perfect example of dying gracefully. Although he was sick for the past year and a half, he never complained. He was always concerned about the other person. I was with him the night before he passed away and he was apologizing for being sick. He made a trip to Beaumont on Thanksgiving day to be with his family even though riding in the car for two hours must have been painful. I know he is resting in a better place and no longer suffering. He will truly be missed.

Althought I didn't know Robert Jr. I do know Robert Sr. because we serve together Honoring Veterans at there funerals. Robert I want to say that I'm very sorry for your loss, may God Bless your son on his new journey to a peaceful here after.

I am so sorry Robert lost his battle. He was truly a sweetheart of a man. I remember him from elementary school through college and our early days in Houston. I won't be able to attend the services, but will definitely pray for the repose of his soul. May God comfort us all in his passing. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011 was the day that God took my brother, Bobby, home. When I said “Goodbye” it was hard to let him go. Part of me went with him, but he will forever be in my memory and my heart. When I see his beautiful family and hear the kind words people say about him, I realize he touched their lives in so many ways too. Thank you brother for all you gave and showed us throughout your life. I love you and I miss you. So, rest in peace, my dear brother and we will be together again when it’s my time. Love you forever. I remember Robert so well. Whenever I saw him he was always smiling, always full of energy. Katie and I want you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Robert's picture is just how I remember him ~ always smiling. Larry and I are so sad for all of you in your loss of a wonderful man. Our time with him a year ago was too short. I wish we could have lived near and have enjoyed this friendship for years, not just one month.

We were with him before and after several of his treatments. During all of it, and I'm certain he must have felt really bad, he was very stoic and wanted all of us (and his family) to think he was good. His positive attitude helped make everyone around him feel better. I wish there had been a way that we could have helped him feel better.

The world was a better place because of Robert. He will be sorely missed.

May God give you His peace as you mourn Robert.
