Richard Keith “Kooter” Davis

Crystal & Carlee...Your Dad was an amazing man...I got to know him when we worked together at Market Basket in Port Neches. He made me LAUGH all the time. That "BIG SMILE" I will never forget. My heart goes out to you! You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I wanted to make the memorial, but I have health issues of my own, I wanted to let y'all know I was there in thought. Kooter, my friend I will miss you and I love you. Rest now! Girls you are so LOVED!!!! GOD BLESS!

Real sorry & shocked to hear about Kooter, a truly good old boy & was real good to hear from him on facebook after years of not being in touch, my thoughts & prayers to his family & friends, adios old friend but that friendly smile & laugh will not be forgotten.

Crystal and Carlee, your dad's memorial was really nice. You did a wonderful job. He had so many family members and friends that loved him. He will be remembered fondly.

I am so sorry for your loss. Kooter was always so nice to my kids and all the kids that came to the convience store in nederland. It wasn't a complete day of soccer or baseball without stopping by the store and geting a drink or stoping by in the morning on the way to school to get the kids lunch money. The family is in my prayers.

Kooter , you were a lifelong friend to my husband jimmy and you will be greatly missed.

Crystal & Carlee...Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time.

Crystal & Carly

Words can not express nor take away the pain and heartache. The smile, the voice, the kindness, the stubborn ways, they will always be remembered. Rest in peace "koonass".
To the girls: you were his world, the babies the apples of his eyes. He dearly loved y'all. Carry him in your hearts forever. I am sorry for your loss, your heartache, and your emptiness.

Our prayers are with the family and friends. I am so sorry to hear about Kooter.

Crystal and Carlee our prayers and thoughts are with you. You know that your Dad was a special person to our family we loved him and always enjoyed his visits. He was special to mother and she loved him. Now they are at peace with each other and not suffering and I know she will take care of him. They will now be our special angels watching over us. I will think about him now every time I make macaroni salad and rice dressing. We will miss him! We love you and you have to know he is in a better place and time will heal the hurt. All my love, Aunt Sherri and Brodie

I wish that Milton and I could have spent more time with you. I know that Milton thought of you as a brother and loved you very much. When you would come home to Port Neches occasionally, I would always make sure that I had fresh brownies for you. You are now in the arms of angels..till we meet again my friend...

Truely a brother I never had! Traveled many a road together, some twice. Waiting for a quarter on the window seal my brother. No words can describe KOOTER! Rest easy MY BROTHER! Till We meet again !!

When I read about Kooter's passing, my mind immediately flew back in time to our first grade class, and then to the second grade, and then on through the years until graduation from PNG. The last time I saw him was graduation night, but you don't forget a classmate like Kooter. He always had a smile ready and he brought smiles to many of his classmates. Rest in peace, Kooter, until we meet again.

Richard (Kooter) was a great friend as well as co-worker. You could always count on Richard to make you smile by telling you one of his Cajun jokes. He had a way of slurring the words just right to turn a normal joke into a real “gut-buster”. If Kooter was in a group of people, you could count on someone in the group requesting that Kooter tell one of his famous Cajun jokes and the laughs would soon begin. Kooter touched the lives of many employees and customers throughout the Hill Country and will be missed by all. Kooter was always eager to help wherever he was needed and took great pride in his family and job. I have only met the family once when Richard was sick earlier this year, but I wanted to let you know that he often spoke of you. Every time that he mentioned his family, his eyes lit up and his chest stuck out with great pride. He loved you all very much. God bless your family.

I had the privlige of working with Kooter at Boyles Market and at Super S here in Bandera. Kooter was an awsome co worker but he was a better friend.I am surley going to miss him and I am very sorry for yall's loss.

Rest easy now my friend.
Was playing Texas League baseball in 1966 against the Senators when this burly kid named Kooter began pitching crazy fast balls against my team, the White Sox. Amazingly, one little squirt stuck his bat out as one of those heaters came to the plate and rocketed a screamer right back to this Kooter guy. This Kooter fella never flinched as he just sucked that ball into his glove. Ball slapped leather, crowd gasped, and the place just went crazy. There was Kooter, that big smile on his face that never seemed to vanish for all the years the man was Kooter.
Was never that close to Kooter through junior high and high school, but, when you saw Kooter, you saw a kid with a smile and a big loping gait in his step.
Been 12, maybe 15 years since last I crossed paths with the big fella at a convenience store he was running in Nederland.
Last time, like all the times before, there was that Kooter smile and a friendly Texas League memory of childhoods past.
Carry on my friend. I'll remember ya and I bet alot of others will too.

To the family, my thoughts and prayers go out to you in this time of loss.

No words…no songs take meaning to me right now. Just silence is good, remembering the good times & the laughs we shared! I wanted to see you for one last time, but just couldn’t go. You were full of life—that’s how I want to remember you. I will always love you—always have. God bless you, Kooter and may you have peace now. To Crystal & Carly, I know your dad cherished you far beyond words. He was so very proud of you both. Love, Sharon

One of a kind. You'll definately be missed.Never a dull moment when you were around

Our thoughts go out to Carly and Crystal what a journey you
to have been on. The way you stood by your dad and took
care of him was truly amazing. I have no doubt that he is with
his mother/father, and (aunt pudd) in heaven.

All my best.
