Doris Cummings Riggs, 88, of Beaumont, died Monday, September 20, 2004 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital.
A native of River Mines, Missouri, and Beaumont resident since 1949, she was an accountant with Texas Commerce Bank having retired in 1984. Doris was a graduate of the University of Denver, a member of the American Business Womens’ Association, and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors include her stepsons, Ruel R. Riggs and Jerry W. Riggs, both of Beaumont; stepdaughter, Janis Davis of Chester, Virginia; eight step-grandchildren; and special friend and caregiver, Joan Carter.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at Broussard’s, 1605 N. Major Drive, Beaumont, followed by burial at Magnolia Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday evening, September 21, 2004 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
