Other than her parents, Maurine is preceded in death by her husband, H. G. “Gordon” West, the love of her life for forty-six years; son, Ralph E. West; and brothers, Billy Hampton and Pete Hampton.

The family wishes to thank the countless nurses and caregivers who spent so many hours with her in her final weeks, especially the doctors and nurses of Methodist Hospital in Houston.

Mary, I was so sorry to read of your mom's passing. I had the opportunity to work with your mom and know your dad also while we worked together at Ideco many years ago. She helped give my bridal shower for me. She was a very dear friend to me. I am sorry to say I hadn't seen or talked to her in a very long time. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your entire family.
