Mary A. Clark, 90, of Kountze and formerly of Appleton, Maine, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2011 at Silsbee Convalescent Center surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born August 25, 1921 in Warren, Main to Ernest and Edna (Graham) Young.

Mary was a homemaker all of her life, kept the books for the family plumbing business and at times, went into the field with her husband, as a plumber’s helper. Mary was an accomplished hand knitter, quilter, crotchetier and was well known for hand tatted notes that were sold at the Methodist Church Winterberry Fair. Her quilts adorn the beds of her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. Mary completed over one hundred quilts during her lifetime. Mary’s help and leadership will be sadly missed at the many, many public suppers she helped with over the years.

She will be so missed. Our thoughts go out to all the rest of the family and friends. Her many talents extended to many people from Maine to Texas. Her fingers were always busy.
