Bessie Lee Scott, 81, a native of Somerville, Tennessee and a longtime resident of Beaumont, died Thursday, September 16, 2004.
Mrs. Scott was a retired Elementary School Teacher with the Vidor Independent School District. She loved sewing, quilting, and painting.
Bessie was preceded in death by her husband, George R. Scott. Survivors include her sons, Gary R. Scott and his wife Patti of Leander, Texas and Richard G. Scott and his wife Jan of Red Rock, Texas; grandchild, Seth Scott and his wife Stephanie; great grandsons, Riley Scott and Colin Scott; brother, Vernon Tapp and his wife, Vera of Somerville, Tennessee; nephews, Jimmie Glen Tapp, William H. Scott and Damon Tapp; and nieces, Carolyn Parsons, Donna Anderson and Wanda Barton.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 19, 2004 at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. Burial will be on Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at Carter Family Cemetery, Somerville, Tennessee, under the direction of Peebles Funeral Home, Somerville. Visitation will be Saturday, September 18, 2004 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
