Emma J. Lundhoy Brundrett, 91, of Beaumont, died unexpectedly Friday, September 3, 2004 at the Clairmont Nursing Home.

Mrs. Brundrett was born January 01, 1913, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to immigrant Danish parents, Adolf Lauritz Lundhoy and Cathinca D. Andersen Lundhoy. When she was one year of age the family relocated in Kansas City, Missouri, where she completed high school, married and retired. She married James Malcolm Brundrett of that city in 1941. One son, James Malcolm Brundrett, Jr., was born to that union.

Upon Mr. Brundrett’s retirement in 1976, they moved to Sun City, Arizona, where they remained until Mrs. Brundrett relocated to Beaumont with her niece Kitty Eitel-Ammenheuser in 1991. She was a resident of the Ridgewood Retirement Home from 1991 thru 1994. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church here.

“Aunt Emma” as she was known, not only by her immediate family, was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Lawrence A. Lundhoy of Kansas City, Kansas, and her husband Malcolm in Sun City, Arizona. She is survived by her son, James Malcolm Brundrett, Jr. of Lawrence, Kansas and his wife Charlene. In Beaumont, her niece Kitty Eitel-Ammenheuser and her husband Jim. A niece and a nephew of Kansas City, Kansas, Patti A. Wright and her husband Larry and Tony A. Lundhoy and his wife Dixie; three great nieces, Renee Eitel, Kristi Eitel-Holstine and her husband Bolan of Beaumont and Kassie Wright of Kansas City, Kansas; three great nephews, Lance Eitel, Sr. and his wife Debbie of Bullard, Texas, Larry Lundhoy-Wright and his wife, Theresa and Richard Wright of Kansas City, Kansas; three great great nieces, Shara Perez and Candice Eitel of Beaumont and Libby Eitel of Bullard, Texas; and two great great nephews, Lance Eitel, Jr. of Bullard, Texas and Christopher Lundhoy-Wright of Kansas City, Kansas.

There will not be a local service for Mrs. Brundrett in Beaumont. She will return to the place she called “home” in Kansas City, Kansas and be laid to rest along side her husband. Local arrangements are under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont.

The family would like to thank all of the friends “Aunt Emma” made from Bethlehem Lutheran, and others whom she came in contact while in the Clairmont Nursing Home for their visits and expressions of love. Thanks to the staff of Clairmont for their care and watchful eyes, as well as the doctors and nurses at SETMA. God bless all of you and we know that Emma is in a better place.

I am very sorry for your loss. I worked at The Clairmont nursing home for a short while around 2001-2002. I remember what a kind person Mrs. Brundrett was. She was one of my favorites. She was always so neatly kept. Your family will be in my prayers in this time of loss.
