James David Kokenes Sr., 76, of Beaumont, died Saturday, April 10, 2004 at Schlesinger Geriatric Center in Beaumont.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at Broussard’s in Nederland with Rev. Ronald Smith officiating.
Mr. Kokenes was a native and lifelong resident of the Beaumont area. He retired after many years as a route salesman in retail. He graduated from St. Anthony School in Beaumont and served in the Merchant Marines.
He is survived by his wife, Bettie Kokenes of Beaumont; two daughters, Karen Garrison and husband Philip Michael of Katy, and Linda Kay Bell and husband Robert of Bellaire; one son, Jimmy Kokenes Jr. and wife Mary of Nederland; six grandchildren, Kimberly Kably, Theresa Williams, Chad Kokenes, Brian Kokenes, Lucas Bell, and Natalie Bell; also seven great grandchildren.
