Ida Laura Crosby, 83, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, July 27, 2010. A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont; Ida was born March 27, 1927, to Dora Anderson Hargraves and Charles Edward Hargraves.
Survivors include her daughters, Lala Howell and her husband Dan of Lumberton and Susie Taylor of Beaumont; son, Tim Urr and his wife Kim of Fort Walton, Florida and Stacy Crosby and his wife Andrea of Huntsville; brothers, Ike Hargraves and his wife Betty and Charles Hargraves; grandchildren, Katie McKinley and her husband J.J., Jennifer Killgo and her husband Jay, Danielle Mitchell and her husband Josh, Ashley Crosby, Courtney Howell and Joshua Crosby; great-grandchildren, Xzandria McKinley, Jonathan McKinley, Taylor Killgo, Averi Killgo, Madisyn Mitchell and Nolan Mitchell.
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-two years, Q. T. “Birddog” Crosby; parents, Dora and Charles Hargraves; sister, Alice Madsen; and sister-in-law, Neva Hargraves.
Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2010, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday afternoon at Fairview Cemetery, Highway 92 near Dam B. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 29, 2010, at Broussard’s.
