Ruth Alene Brewer, 77, of Nederland passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Ruth was a native of Annarena, Texas and was a longtime Nederland resident. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Nederland and had taught English before her marriage.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Brewer.
She is survived by daughters, Kathleen Brewer of Galveston and Gaye Brewer of Nederland; sons, Michael Brewer of Arlington and Steve Brewer of Ohio; sister, Frances Thomas of Nederland; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Her service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Broussard’s in Nederland with Dr. David Higgs officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
A gathering of family and friends will be 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, April 5, 2010 at the mortuary in Nederland.
The family has requested that memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Nederland, 1911 Nederland Avenue, Nederland, Texas 77627.
