Benjamin Abrah Westerterp, 78, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.
A native and lifelong resident of the Beaumont area, Ben was born December 22, 1931, to Olive Decuir and Nicholas Ralph Westerterp. He was retired from Mobil after thirty-five years of service and was a United States Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his children, Nick Westerterp and his wife Janna of Woodville, Vicki Fama and her husband Mike of Beaumont and Blake Westerterp and his wife Lisa of Austin; and grandchildren, Nick Westerterp, Nicole Westerterp, Emily Fama and Greg Fama, and Anna Westerterp and Meredith Westerterp.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Olive Decuir Westerterp Patton; father, Nicholas Ralph Westerterp; step-mother, Corinne “Dickie” Lee Westerterp; brother, Leo Westerterp; and sister, Leola Westerterp.
His funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, February 26, 2010, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery. A gathering of his family and friends will be Thursday evening February 25, 2010, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Broussard’s.
