Don Garner, 73 of Nederland passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2009 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.
Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Nederland. Funeral service will be 4:00 PM, Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Steep Hollow Cemetery in Brazos County, the visitation is from 1:00-3:00 PM at Calloway-Jones Funeral home in Bryan on Thursday.
Mr. Garner was born in Bryan, Texas and has lived most of his life in Nederland before settling in Bangkok, Thailand sixteen years ago. He was a member of the Pipe Fitters Local 195, owner of ICI Construction Inc. and Garner Construction Inc. before settling in Thailand.
Mr. Garner was preceded in death by his parents Duward and Lola Garner. He is survived by his wife Ta Garner of Bangkok, Thailand; son Curtis Garner and wife Joanne of Houston; two daughters, Colleen Smith and husband Dickie of Douglass, Vickie Borden and husband Dave of Nederland; seven grandchildren, Cody Pratt, Christopher Pratt, Amber Johnson and husband Carl, Kevin Smith of Douglass, Garrett Garner of Houston, Kaitlin Borden of Nederland, Kylie Borden of Nederland; three great grandchildren, Wrangler and Maddison Johnson of Douglass, Adrya Pratt of Douglass.
