Kelly Marie (Noddin) Dutta passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 22, 2009, in Orange, Texas at the age of 33.

Kelly was born on July 2, 1976, in Beaumont, the daughter of Margaret Jane Cottom and John T. Knoden, and was raised in Southeast Texas. Kelly graduated from Evadale High School, and then attended Lamar University where she majored in English. After Lamar, Kelly lived in Florida and California before moving back to Texas, and settling in Lumberton. She was a member of St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica in Beaumont, and worked at the law firm of Jackson Morones.

To all who knew her, Kelly was not ordinary, she was extraordinary. Kelly was a fearless, interesting, exciting, intelligent, funny, caring, and mother of three beautiful children whom she adored. Never shy, Kelly enjoyed discussing politics, religion and any topic her nimble mind pounced upon. Kelly was most proud of her three children, and enjoyed spending time with them. Kelly, who never lost her sense of adventure, was unable to sit quietly on the sidelines and let life pass her by. Kelly reached out to others often, and was always there for those who needed her. Kelly will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

Kelly is survived by, and will always be remembered by, her three children, Ayan J. Dutta, Aditya J. “A.J.” Dutta, and Emily Jane Dutta. She is also survived by her father and step-mother, John T. Knoden and Mary Nan Knoden; her step-father, Garland “Sonny” Cottom; her brother and sister-in-law, John Mitchell Noddin and Shawna Cherie Noddin; her niece, Sarah Noddin and nephew, Cole Noddin.

Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 1, 2009, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with entombment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2009, at Broussard’s.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Emily Dutta’s name to Chase Bank, Account #834623118, 350 Dowlen Road, Beaumont, Texas 77706.

We met Kelly while calling on businesses for advertising. She was gracious to us and offered to help us as we got our business started, she went out of her way to help us before she left to go to California to see her two boys. When I heard that Kelly had passed I was so sad to hear what had happened to such a wonderful person. We will never forget Kelly. May God bless all of the family our prayers and deepest sympathy go out to each of you during this difficult time.
