Beth was always very active in her church and spent many hours volunteering her time with the Houston Independent School District where her daughter Betty was a school nurse.

Beth was greeted in Heaven by her parents Howard and Leila Baker, her Brother Jesse Bartlett Baker, husbands Allen A. Shear and William J. Elmore, her son Allen Shear, her daughter Elizabeth “Betty” Shear Armstrong, granddaughter Leslie Ann Armstrong and grandson Eric J. Bayard.

Her memory lives on through her survivors, daughters and sons-in-law: Leila (Shear) Christoffel and husband Joe of The Woodlands, Georgia (Shear) Villarreal and husband Manuel of Nederland, and Jerry Armstrong and wife Ann of The Woodlands, two step-daughters: June Elmore Cerrato and husband Doug, and Peggy Elmore.
