I worked with John at Dugway Proving Ground in Utah. He was a great mentor to many young scientists. He challenged all of us to make sure that our results were defensible and that they answered the question at hand.

It was good to have worked with John, first at Dugway where I hired him, then later from Columbus. He was always a hard-charger who kept everyone focused on a quality job. The very first time he shook my hand at our initial interview, his grip was so strong that he actually cracked a bone in my hand. It took three weeks to heal - but I hired him anyway!
