I loved Mike and I will miss him very much. He called me every weekend to check on me even though he was the one who was sick.
Johnny - I love you and you will always be my sister.
Rodney, Russell, Ron, and Rick - I love you too, he was a great dad, he loved each of you very much and was so proud of each of you. Love and take care of each other for him, and take care of Johnny for him.
Mendy - Always remember that Mike loved his daughter and was proud of you too.

I am so sorry for the loss of Mike. Even though he and I did not get along, he was an excellent father. He was always there for the guys. I am so grateful that he was the type of father that they could always look up to and respect. Someone that they could follow his footsteps and direct their lives. We have been praying so hard for him to accept Christ into his heart. I am so proud that he did. Now Johnnie, Mendy and the guys can all know they will be able to see him again. What a blessing to be able to know that in your heart.

Johnnie, I prayed that he would remarry, and I prayed that he would marry someone that would love my boys. I have told you many times that I am grateful that that prayer was answered. Mendy, you are the sister that they never had. Each of you love each other as always, keep the family close. He would have wanted that.

Rodney, Rusty, Ron, Ricky, I am so proud of each of you. I am humbled to be your mother. God knew what he was doing when he chose you for your dad and myself. You have turned into extremely special young men. You value your families and you value yourselves. Continue to walk in the path that God has chosen for you. You will go far in life-even farther that I could ever imagine for you. I remember us sitting around the table in the evenings and discussing what your jobs would be when you grew up and what cars you would drive. Again I say, you have made us very proud.
Trish, Janet, Stacy, I cannot tell you what you mean to my boys. I am so glad that God chose you for the other part of their hearts. You are very special to me. Keep the families close, this is the woman's part to do. Guys just do not think of things like this. Always be happy and never let yourself loose self. If you do not have self, you do not have anything. Always keep that in your heart and share your love unconditionally. I am honored to have you as the daughters I never had. Take care of the grandbabies and tell them daily that Pawpaw loved them. Keep him in their memories with pictures and stories. The hurt will go away and the memories will be even more treasured. Take a day and make it a Mike day, do what he liked to do. I love you all..............mom

Dear McGowan Family:
We are so sorry for your loss. Thank you for being there for us, also, at the Kidney Center. Joy always wanted to know how Mr McGowan was doing. She passed away four days after him. Please know that all of you are in our thoughts and prayers too. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, soul and your might.
