Jose Pena, Jr., 19, of Beaumont, died Sunday, July 19, 2009, at Memorial Hermann at Texas Medical Center in Houston. A native of Chicago, Illinois and a resident of Beaumont for most of his life, Jose was born July 3, 1990, to Elva and Jose Pena, Sr. and was a student at Lamar University.
He is survived by his parents; brother, Angel Pena; sisters, Dayra Pena and Julie Pena; grandparents, Samuel and Deloris Estrada; girlfriend, Christen Carter; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12:00 p.m., Friday, July 24, 2009, at Cristo Rey Catholic Church with Reverend Juan Manuel Ruiz officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. A gathering of his family and friends will be from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2009, with a Rosary recited at 5:30 p.m. at the mortuary.
