I know this is late, but memories of Jim popped up in my mind recently, so I did a Google search for him. How saddened I am to hear of his death! I went to Longfellow Elementary School with him, and knew him in the 4th through the 5th grades. He was always such a kind, sweet boy, the nicest boy in the school. Jim, wherever you are, I hope you are happy. I hope that as you began your final journey, you were filled with wonderful memories of the people who loved you and whose lives you made better by knowing them.

My dear friend Ann Manes called me this morning to let me know about Jim's passing.

The news was so sad. My afternoon has been filled with memories of another time.

When I knew Jim, he was a talented and positively joyous individual. I regret not having kept up with him. I'm sure his life only grew richer and and more beautiful after high school.

Jim along with about 10-20 other folks made up the cast of an extraordinary time and group of earnest, dedicated, young, creative souls who made high school life exhilarating.

The theater department at Beaumont High School, in the late 60's and early 70's, under the fearless guidance of Perry Riley... captured magic and lighting in a bottle. A lot of that magic was generated by Jim.

I remember his charisma and charm, as well as his terrific, often ingenious acting skills.

I'm so glad I knew him, even if it was for just a few years, and for what seems now, a lifetime ago.

My deepest sympathies go out to his family and close friends.
