She was the symbol of strength to her family whom she had uncompromising love and devotion. Janiece settled many childhood battles for her younger brother Kenneth Keath. He was a special light in her life. Janiece’s life ended after a short stay in Baptist Hospital, M.D. Anderson and The Harbor Hospice Center in Beaumont. Janiece was born in Joaquin, Texas and attended elementary and junior high there. The family moved to Vidor where she graduated. She also attended and graduated from business college a short time later. Janiece was employed by Texaco for thirty-five years and retired as a payroll clerk.
She and her family lived in Nederland, Texas for several years where she was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Nederland. Janiece enjoyed traveling and visited many countries, and especially liked cruise ship vacations. She delighted in being a hostess to as many people as possible at her home in Groves. The food was always good and plentiful and she never let your tea glass run dry.
Janiece and husband Marvin spent many happy days on Sam Rayburn where she became a very serious trot line catfish fisherman. She developed lifelong friendships with many people at the lake area. Janiece enjoyed southern gospel music and was fond of the Gaithers, featuring the late Anthony Burger. She and Marvin were members of First United Methodist Church of Groves, where the Reverend Alan Van Hooser is the pastor.
She is preceded in death by her father, Marshall F. Keath; mother, Velma Keath; and brother, Yandell E. Keath. Survivors include her husband, Marvin Harvick; son, Alton J. Lasiter and wife Robin; daughters, Margie Ann Fulfer and husband Kane, and Theresa Heintschel; her brother, Kenneth Keath and wife Nancy; also her very special friends, Harold and Warriene Flatt, Greg and Colleen Temple, and previous husband, Truitt Lasiter.
