Wallace Hartwell Callahan, 78, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth. A native of Ennis, Texas and a thirty year resident of Beaumont, Wallace worked as personnel manager for Texas Commerce Bank for twenty years and also served in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed woodworking, antique clock repair and his favorite hobby, antique shows.
Survivors include his wife of forty years, Judy Callahan of Beaumont; daughters, Vicki Hargis of Houston, Teresa Weimer of Richmond, Virginia, Melanie Callahan of Chesterfield, Virginia and Denise Tremonte of Kountze; sister, Gwen Ridley of Houston; niece, Diane Mandery of Houston; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2009, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont with Reverend Martin Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Orange, Texas. A Christian Vigil will be 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2009, at Broussard’s.
