Rita Sam, 87, of Beaumont died June 9, 2009, at Harbor Hospital of Orange.
A native of Whitesville, Louisiana, Rita moved to Texas in 1997.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at the Church of Christ Church, 2559 HWY 124 with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive in Winnie. A gathering of family and friends will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the church.
Rita is survived by her sons, Patrick Sam, Larry Sam, and Melvin Sam all of Beaumont, Alvin Sam of Ville Platte, Louisiana; daughters, Mary Dent of Beaumont, Lillian Sam of Port Arthur; sister, Leona “Noon” Miller of Oakland, California; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends.
