Robert Odell Bearden, Sr., 75, of Port Arthur, died Wednesday, May 27, 2009, in Port Arthur.
Funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Sunday, May 31, 2009 at Broussard’s in Nederland with Ronald Bordes officiating. Interment will follow at Tranquility Mausoleum in Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches. A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m.
until 8:00p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2009 at the mortuary.
Mr. Bearden was a native of Foreman, Arkansas, and has lived in Port Arthur for the past fifty-five years. He retired from the construction industry as a carpenter and member of Local #610.
Odell was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Broom Bearden; and son, Arven Wayne Bearden.
He is survived by his sons, Robert Odell Bearden, Jr. and his wife Vickie of LaBelle, Johnny R. Bearden and his wife Paula of LaBelle, Gary Michael Bearden and his wife Leslie of Fannett, David Allen Bearden and his wife Maddie of Groves, and Steven Paul Bearden of LaBelle; daughters, Linda Sue Bearden Bean of LaBelle, Mattie Lynn Baird and her husband Billy of Joplin, Missouri, Pamela Jean Welch and husband Jerry of Nederland; brothers, Charles C. Bearden of Boston, Massachusetts, and David W. Bearden of Beaumont; nineteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
