Mildred Long Mallett, 93, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at Methodist Hospital in Houston.
Mildred Mallett was described by many as regal. The people who knew her thought of her as kind, gentle, and gracious. Most importantly, she had accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and Lord. The heavens rejoiced, the trees clapped their hands, and that great cloud of witnesses welcomed her into heaven as she met her Master face to face.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio and resident of Beaumont for seventy-seven years, Mildred was a retired art teacher from South Park Elementary School after twenty-six years of service.
Survivors include her son, Jerry Mallett, Jr. of McGregor; daughters, Judy Cureton of Fort Worth and Debbie Mallett of Beaumont; five grandchildren, Jeff Mallett, Lane Mallett, Chris Cureton, Tim Cureton and Emily Cureton; and three great grandchildren.
Her graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A gathering of her family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2009 at Broussard’s.
We would like to thank Dr. Randy Lombardo and Dr. George Thomas of Beaumont, and the doctors and staff at Methodist Hospital in Houston.
