Carol Powell Huff, 62, of Beaumont, died Sunday, May 10, 2009. Carol was born August 31, 1946 to J.T. and Dorothy Bearden Powell. A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, Carol was a retired administrative assistant with Spindletop Services with thirty-three years of service. She also worked part-time at Hermann Memorial Baptist Beaumont Hospital in the medical records department from 1984 until 2008.
She is survived by her mother, Dorothy Bearden Powell of Henderson, Texas; daughter, Charlcie Huff Fryar and her husband Marc of Trinity, North Carolina; son, James Huff and his wife Nina of China; brothers, Dale Powell and his wife Karen of Richardson and Alton Powell and his wife Wanda of Missouri City; grandchildren, Candice and Jared Fryar, Jamey and Haley Huff, and Angelica Huckabay; aunt, Claudine Bearden Kennedy of Brachfield, Texas; one great granddaughter, Hayden Jonasson; two nieces; one great niece; and three great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, J.T. Powell.
Her graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at Shiloh Cemetery in Mt. Enterpise, Texas under the direction of Crawford A. Crim Funeral Home, 1414 South Main, Henderson, Texas. A gathering of family and friends will be Monday, May 11, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. There will be an additional gathering of family and friends Tuesday, May 12, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Crawford A. Crim Funeral Home in Henderson.
