George Hernandez, 79, of Silsbee died Sunday, May 10, 2009 at the Michael E. DeBakey Medical Center in Houston.
A native of Beaumont, George was a lifelong resident of the area and was a sign painter. He also served his country in the United States Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Marie Hernandez; children, Gerry “Bo” Hernandez of Lumberton, Rhonda Borden and husband Freddy and Tony Hernandez and wife Kathy, all of Vidor; grandchildren, Jarred Borden and wife Jennifer, Eli Hernandez, Jessica Borden, and Ashley, Ashlyn, and Natalie Majia; and sister, Andrea Perez.
George is preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Hernandez and a granddaughter, Casey Dawn Hastings.
Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at First Pentecostal Church, FM 92 North, Silsbee under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, May 12, 2009 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the church.
