Kenneth L. Spidle, 72, of Beaumont, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2009. He was born September 6, 1936 in Beaumont and was a longtime resident of the Beaumont area. Kenneth graduated from Beaumont High School and from Lamar University where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity.

He was former owner and president of Spidle and Spidle, Inc. for many years. Kenneth was a member of YMBL, serving as president and fair chairman, and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of fifty years, Marilyn Hull Spidle; sons, William “Bill” Spidle and his wife Cathy and Cody Spidle all of Beaumont; daughters, Wendy Golding and her husband Graeme of Little Rock, Arkansas, Carrie Chambliss and her husband Bubba of Mauriceville and Catherine Harris and her husband Grant of Lufkin; three grandchildren are left, Will Spidle and Walt Spidle both of Beaumont and Ella Grace Harris of Lufkin; and sister, Lois Spidle Golemon of Stafford.

Our family would like to recognize Kenneth’s long time friend, Bernie Cook for his friendship and his caring during Kenneth’s illness.

We have many people to thank for his care during his illness. Sophia Wright and her staff were so good to Kenneth; and Linda McGraw and Doris Willis and their staff were so wonderful during the last months they gave him all the love and care he needed.

A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A gathering of his family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Broussard’s.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Morning Out Club at Trinity United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 5247, Beaumont, Texas 77726 or to Alzheimer’s Association, 700 North Street, Suite M, Beaumont, Texas 77701.
