Edna Beatrice Wallet, 76, of Village Mills died April 30, 2009 at her residence. Edna was born August 31, 1932 to Foye Merrel and Gracie Elizabeth (George) Powell in Frankston, Texas. A resident of Village Mills since 1948, she was a homemaker. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Village Mills where she taught Sunday school.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-one years, Sylvester Wallet of Village Mills; children, Lonnie Wallet and his wife Elaine of Village Mills, David Wallet and his wife Anita of Fred, Laura Collins and her husband Floyd of Village Mills, and Cynthia Herrington and her husband Kelly of Thicket; brothers, Raymond Powell and Martin Powell both of Lake Charles; sisters, Opal Faulk, Mavis Musk, Avis Cook, and Audrey Duncan all of Lake Charles; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Glenn Wallet.
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze with Reverend Ritchard Bean and Reverend Anthony Love officiating. Burial will follow at Holland Cemetery in Kountze. A gathering of family and friends will be Monday, May 4, 2009 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the mortuary.
