Betty Carroll, 73, of Nederland passed away Saturday, March 28, 2009 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland. Interment will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches under the direction of Broussard’s in Nederland. A rosary will be recited 5 pm Tuesday, March 31, 2009 with a gathering of family and friends to follow from 6 to 8 pm at the mortuary.
Mrs. Carroll was a native of Bryan, Texas and lived in the Nederland area since 1965. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and was a sales associate for the Hallmark store in Central Mall. She was a people oriented person and cherished all her friends and customers. She especially enjoyed the special friendship she had and the outings she attended with The Happy Bunch. She will also be remembered for her love of cooking and working puzzles.
Mrs. Carroll is survived by her daughters, Susan Toney and her husband Toby of Nederland and Kristy Porter and her husband Robert of Peach Bottom, Pennsylvania; her son, John Carroll of Nederland; seven grandchildren and one great-grandson. Also survived by her sister, Margaret LoBello and niece Lisa LoBello of Bryan, Texas. She was preceded in death by her son, Gary M. Carroll.
