Frances Elizabeth Smith, 85, of Sour Lake died Monday, March 16, 2009 at Harbor Hospital in Orange. Frances was born in Eunice, Texas on May 21, 1923 to Arthur Critton and Hermane (Nichols) Dunn. A resident of Sour Lake since 1990, she was a retired clerk with Harris County Jail.
She is survived by her son, Milton Dixon, Sr. of Sour Lake; grandsons, Milton Dixon, Jr. of Beaumont and Mike Ray Dixon of Cape Coral Florida; granddaughters, Terry Dixon Corbell of Beaumont and Dana Svatapolsky of Hutto, Texas; great grandsons, Jason Fontenot and Zackery Dixon; great great grandsons, Javyn Fontenot and Kyle Catalanatto; and brother, Arthur Dunn and his wife Christine of Centerville, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her son, Michael Ray Dixon.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze with Reverend Ken Ellzey officiating. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Sour Lake. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday, March 18, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
