Leora Holmes, 82, passed away on Tuesday, March 03, 2009 at Vista Hospice in Houston.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 am Friday, March 6, 2009 in the chapel of Broussard’s in Nederland with Pastor L. C. Roots officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, March 5, 2009 from 5 to 8:00pm at Broussard's in Nederland.
Leora was a native of Sweet Lake, Louisiana, she had lived in Nederland and Groves. Mrs. Holmes retired as a Financial Secretary for the United Methodist Church of Port Arthur. She was a member of Seventh Street Baptist Church in Nederland and First Baptist Church in Groves.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Holmes, sister, Betty Veselica and a brother Dave, Delahoussaye. Mrs. Holmes is survived by her daughters, Janet Chappell, and Tate McIntyre; sons, Kenneth Holmes, Lawrence Holmes, and Mark Holmes; sisters, Alberta Miller, and Henriella Parnigoni; brothers, C.L. Delahoussaye, and George Delahoussaye; and many other family and friends.
