Bessie Mae Morris, 80, of Beaumont died May 14, 2004 at her residence. Mrs. Morris was a lifelong resident of Beaumont. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Emmett Morris and her parents, Duplex and Edna Melancon.
She is survived by her sons, Timothy Lee Morris of San Antonio and Ray Duplex Morris and his wife Jayne of Sour Lake; brothers, J. C. Melancon and Gene Melancon; sisters, Lillie Belle Wright and Birdie Breaux; and grandchildren, Brett Morris, Adam Morris, Alaina Morris and Angela Morris.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at St. Anne Catholic Church followed by burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin. A gathering of family and friends will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday evening, May 17, 2004 with a Christian Vigil at 7:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
