Rohn Christopher Wenner, 48 of Beaumont, died Friday, February 27, 2009 at his home.

A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, Rohn was a 1979 graduate of South Park High School and proud alumnus of Lamar University. He graduated third in his class from South Park and served as photographer for the school yearbook.

In 1978, while still in high school, Rohn started Wenner Photography when he photographed dances and school events. After attending Lamar, he changed the name to Image Specialist to better represent the large range of services offered. Rohn stayed at the forefront of imaging technology always offering his clients the latest services available while combining this with old fashioned personal touch, excellent service, and his strict attention to detail and perfection in his work.

He was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, St. Anne Catholic Church and was active in the ACTS community. Rohn received numerous business awards which include Telly, Press Club and videographer awards.

A deep love of travel and adventure was instilled at an early age by his father. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying sailing, white water rafting, camping, motorcycle riding, hiking, and bicycle riding with his daughters. A great Daddy, devoted to his four daughters, he was present for all activities and loved being with them.

I was very sad to hear of Rohn's passing. I was recently in town due to the passing of my mother and heard about Rohn. I was in the same class with Rohn in high school. I remember him mostly from honors english class. My thoughts and prayers with his family. My sincere condolences.

My Prayers & sincere heartfelt thoughts go out to Rohn's Wife, children, & family.
I Pray that God & the Goodness of the Universe, will grant them the Peace and Serenity they will need to get them through such a harsh and difficult time.
My Personal Story: ....Well, I had the pleasure of meeting Rohn while we attended South Park Highschool together. We were never really close friends, for he was several grades ahead of me (I graduated in the class of 1981). However, we did share quite a few mutual friends. All through High School, I worked at Burger Chef in South Park, and I remember seeing him in there from time to time.
Rohn honestly was such a Wonderful & Talented Photographer, and I know in my heart he will truly be missed by all who loved and knew him.
I'm sad to say this, ..... but the last time I saw Rohn was back in about 1998, when my 21 year old nephew was killed in a car accident in Beaumont. Just prior to my nephews death we had taken some video footage from Easter and Christmas, and I went to Rohn asking him to please help me with a project, that consisted of converting some of the video footage we took during those last holidays spent with my nephew, into some still photos for my nephews mother, brother & the family. Rohn told me he wasn't sure if it could be done, and he thought that still photos coming from a moving video might would come out a little blurry. At that time, the technology was pretty new, and somewhat difficult to take a moving video, and make it into a (clear & viewable) still photo. But Rohn, was kind enough to try it anyway. No promises were made on his part, but I had faith in him, and in the end, Rohn did a Magnificent & Wonderful job. The photos turned out beautiful, and when my nephews mother saw them for the first time, she was brought to tears. Rohn was able to capture several still photos taken from different videos, we took only months prior to my nephews untimely death. I will always be so very thankful for his help. These were the last photos we had of my nephew before his passing, and he did such a beautiful job capturing those moments in time.
I know It's so sad loosing such a Talented & Gifted Photographer and person like Rohn, but I truly believe in my heart that God & The Universe must have had a bigger plan for his life.
I apologize for leaving such a long message, but I wanted to let Rohns family know how special and wonderful he really was to everyone that crossed his path.
My Thoughts and prayers go out to his immediate family & close friends.
Much Peace & Kindness, ~Frances Manriquez (SP c/o '81)~

Rohn will be truly missed. He was an inspiration to everyone he met. Jill and I always enjoyed visiting with him each time our paths crossed. I especially enjoyed riding motorcycles with him. His humble nature was expressed through his gentle smile and kind eyes.

Our prayers are with his family. Stay strong in knowing that Rohn touched the lives of so many people.
