Jimmy “Bird Dog” Harvill, 75 of Nederland passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Sunday, March 1, 2009 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Nederland with Reverend Dan Malain officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday evening from 5:00-8:00 pm at with a vigil service beginning at 5:00pm at the mortuary.
Bird Dog was a native of Nederland and a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. He retired from Local 884 in Port Arthur. He served in the U.S. Army.
Bird Dog was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Joe Harvill. Mr. Harvill is survived by his wife, Donna Bean Harvill of Nederland; son, Thad Harvill of Nederland; daughters, Tonya Domingue Alexander and her husband Boyd of Houston, Tosha Wright of Nederland; sisters, Jane Bracklin of Nederland, Exa Fountain of Nederland, Shirley Chandler of Rogersville, Alabama, Pat Smith of Nederland, Wanda Colville of Nederland, Joyce Poss of Sam Rayburn, Sue Perkins of Nederland; six grandchildren, Matthew, Tyler, Jayce, Michala, Kenedi, Chesney and many other family and friends.
